“We just want to get it out there,” said director/co-producer Lawrence of the recently premiered comedy feature, which was lensed in Oklahoma City, Norman and Edmond. “We want to make it easy as possible for people to see.”
To that end, viewers can screen it in its entirety for free on YouTube, or via a free app for the iPad and iPhone. If you’re one of those people who loves physical objects, a cool 99 cents will get you a “basic edition” DVD.
“Ninety-nine cents is literally the cost of the disc, envelope and postage,” said Lawrence. “We made this film as a labor of love. We care about the story and want to share it with people. That’s the most important thing for us.”
“Time Expired” follows a parking enforcement officer wanting to live his final days in peace, although friends and family won’t let him. If you like it, Lawrence and writer/co-producer Rachel Tucker hope you’ll want to spring for the special-edition DVD. At $14.99, it includes commentary tracks, deleted scenes and a making-of featurette.
