Oklahoma Grown helps local farmers markets

The Oklahoma Department of Food, Forestry and Agriculture (ODAFF) is now taking grant applications to help existing farmers markets. The markets must be ODAFF registered as Oklahoma Grown.

Approved applicants are eligible for $2,000 to $3,500. Applications must be postmarked by Feb. 2.

The program is intended to help markets grow via marketing, advertising and newsletter publishing. The 2015 Oklahoma Grown Farmers’ Market Specialty Crop Grant program has a total of $55,000 available. For information, contact Ashley Bender at ODAFF, 522-4330.
